This is one of a series of events that BBC are running between June and October, exploring and celebrating the River Torridge - its history and heritage, natural environment, beauty, and those who use it.

Through analysis and observation on a gentle walk using eco-dye techniques to extract colour from the flora and fauna on the banks of the River Torridge. This exploration into eco-dye making through natural colour extraction is led by environmental artist Francesca Owen.

This workshop is geared towards adults and participants must bring an apron, a sketch book and camera if they use them, a bag to carry things in, sensible footwear and a glass jar. Also wear outdoor clothing for working in and shoes/boots for walking.

Meet 10.30am at the entrance to the Coast Path, opposite Wooda Farm on Wooda Lane, just up from the Appledore Shipyard.
