About this event

Join artist-adventurer Daniella Turbin for a creative session and a local walk at The New Art Gallery in Walsall. Daniella will be facilitating four sessions for adults and older supervised children on every third Saturday of the month starting in October 2025.

During the session you can expect to spend time both in and outdoors. We will be commencing the activity in the art studio, and this is where you will be taught a new outdoor skill such as navigation, and take part in an art activity such as nature journaling. As a group we will then go for a creative walk to a local green space.

Please note:

  • No prior experience of art is necessary. All materials will be provided.
  • These sessions are for adults, young adults and supervised older children (12+).
  • Please wear suitable clothing and footwear
  • Please bring snacks and water for the break
  • Toilets available at the New Art Gallery Walsall

All sessions will start and finish at the New Art Gallery Walsall.

Start time: 10am

Finish time: 1pm

Duration: 3 hours

Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Daniella Turbin is an artist-adventurer from the West Midlands. Her artistic practice combines long distance walking with photography, drawing and writing. In 2022 she embarked on her longest walk to date – around the whole of Great Britain. Setting off from and returning to her home in Essington, South Staffordshire the artist planned a route that would pass through every county and take about a year to complete. Recent projects include a solo exhibition at The New Art Gallery Walsall (2024) and she is currently writing a book about the journey.
