Event description

Description

Cultural Hubs is an exciting arts in libraries Arts Council funded project that allows us to programme a fantastic range of cultural activities and events into St Helens Libraries.

As part of our 2019/2020 programme we are looking to fund creative practitioners (working in any visual, performing or other art form) to create a new piece of work to programme into our arts in libraries activities.

We welcome interesting and ambitious applications from any creative practitioners connected to St Helens, especially people that we haven’t worked with before. Prior successful applicants are still welcome to apply but should be able to show clear development or new directions from their previous projects.

Some previously selected applicants have linked their ideas to a number of national initiatives important to libraries, including: The Summer Reading Challenge, World Mental Health Day, Holocaust Memorial Day, Refugee Week and World Book Day.

We would also be interested in receiving applications that highlight environmental issues or promote greener living alongside other wide-ranging national events and concerns.

These workshops are advisory sessions for artists to talk through potential ideas with Owen Hutchings - Senior Arts In Libraries Officer. It would be great to meet with you and talk about your ideas, and we suggest you book onto one of these sessions to help shape your proposals and advise how they might work in a library environment.

These sessions are intended to be a 1:1 session, however if you are collective or a pair of artists etc, please come together.
