About this event

This event will mark 10 years of Feminist Exchange Network and The People's Bank of Govanhill, a feminist community currency project initiated by artist Ailie Rutherford.

Feminist Exchange Network is a Glasgow based women-led collective that uses social and activist art practices and workshops to connect feminist economic theory to the lived experiences of women and other marginalised genders both both locally and trans-locally.

Join us for this talk which will celebrate the artists, community organisers and activists who have collaborated with Ailie on Feminist Exchange Network and The People's Bank of Govanhill over the past decade and contributed to the development of the project. The talk will include work by artists Monster Chetwynd, Rabiya Choudhry, Ellie Harrison, Najma Abukar, Raman Mundair, Layla-Roxanne Hill, Nat Walpole, Saoirse Amira Anis and Mandy Roberts.

Ailie will also talk about her work as is a visual artist and curator working at the intersection of community activism and creative practice; a practice that segues into her work with Feminist Exchange Network, and recently with Glasgow Women’s Library in 2024.

There will an opportunity to share memories from the last 10 years of the Feminist Exchange Network and The People's Bank of Govanhill and take part in a discussion emerging from Ailie’s presentation.

For a full list of artists, community organisers and activists please visit the Feminist Exchange Network website.
