About this event

Arts • Fine Art

Join artists Hannah Buckingham, Harry Payne & James Wylie for a conversation on the stories and ideas behind In Touch, In Ruin.

From exploring the archives of the historic Mary Rose, to using new technologies that demystify heritage, each artist will reflect on how visual art can revive history, inviting audiences to feel it rather than merely observe it.

Following the artist presentations, you're invited to take part in a short Q&A where you will have the chance to ask questions and learn more.

About the exhibition

Featuring works by Hannah Buckingham, Harry Payne, and James Wylie, In Touch, In Ruin draws from the rich archives of the Mary Rose, Portsmouth’s iconic sunken warship. Through sensory-led “memory installations,” the artists reimagine lost histories, telling intimate stories through objects that challenge how we connect with the past.

The exhibition is part of the Resonate programme delivered at Play Office, an initiative supporting emerging artists in Portsmouth through developmental opportunities and access to advanced creative technologies.
