About this event

Arts • Fine Art

Long regarded as one of Britain’s most distinctive photographic voices, Tom Hunter reimagines canonical art historical imagery in the context of contemporary urban life. Drawing from Renaissance painting, news media, and community histories, his work reframes the working-class neighborhoods of East London as sites of quiet dignity and enduring struggle. His contribution to this exhibition continues that dialogue—celebrating everyday life while exposing its precarity.

Tom Hunter is the first photographer to be shown at the National Portrait Gallery London. His works have been collected by major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), National Gallery London and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
