Join artist and curator Ram Samocha for a special one-hour artist talk at his solo exhibition Abstract Space at Lewisham Arthouse, London. This talk will explore the exhibition’s central themes of drawing as both an artistic and meditative practice.
Ram will share insights into the creation of his large-scale compositions, made from intricate white line work on deep black paper. He will discuss how the works evolved from the repetition of simple marks into immersive landscapes that invite contemplation and self-reflection.
The talk will also address the performative aspects of Abstract Space, including the live drawing performance that combines mark-making with sound and movement. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how line, rhythm, and abstraction can create transformative experiences that extend beyond traditional drawing.
This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artist and learn more about his process, vision, and practice.

Ram Samocha is a multidisciplinary artist, curator and educator. Samocha’s work combines drawing with video, installation, sound, and live performance. Samocha often mixes modern and traditional drawing techniques while searching for new ways to combine between 2D and 3D work.
Samocha is the founder and artistic director of Draw to Perform, an international community for drawing performance practice. Since 2013 Draw to Perform organizing international symposiums and festivals, work with and support emerging and established artists, collaborations with art institutions, and run educational residencies and workshops..
