Artists today are expected to do so much on their own. This event offers a remedy for this - in the chance connect with others and explore possibilities for peer support and mutual aid. Staying motivated, getting feedback, accessing affordable materials or space, making money, or finding collaborators for your project. These are just some of the things your community might be able to help with!
Our understanding of the term ‘Artist’ is inclusive - from amateurs, fledgings & outsiders to established professionals. If you feel yourself to be an artist, and have an interest in connecting with others, we’d love to have you here.
Come along and be guided through a process of reflecting on what you might have to offer and what support you might need. The space will be open to practical shares and requests - though there is no pressure to this, you are welcome to take part however feels comfortable for you.
This practice is inspired by the balancing flow of energy in natural systems (our birthright as inhabitants of this earth), and opposed to capitalist systems which normalise hoarding, compulsion and exploitation. Facilitated by local artist Chloe Lund @ceeglif, it is part of a global movement of Offers and Needs Markets launched by the Post Growth Institute.
We want to keep this group small and nurturing so places are very limited and booking is essential. If you book and can no longer come along please return your ticket. Quench is accessible by 3 steps this will take place in our ground level classroom space, please contact Gemma at quenchgallery@gmail.com for any access questions.
