Join us at our monthly life drawing session in the gorgeous newly opened hotel that is art'otel located in the heart of Hoxton!

All levels are welcome, materials, boards and paper are provided.

What you can expect during the session:

Working with the brilliant Alex Alford (https://www.instagram.com/alexdrawslife/), we have a unique chance to delve through his perspective and explore how light interacts with the figure. In this workshop we’ll focus on observing and translating subtle shifts in value, and on developing confidence in handling tonal range without losing depth or dimensionality.

We’ll also explore how colour choices can shape the mood and feel of a drawing — from cooler tones like blues and purples to warmer, analogous hues. Rather than aiming for photographic accuracy, our approach will be about creative interpretation: learning to see what the light is doing and making choices that serve the pictorial narrative we want our drawings to tell.

All levels are welcome, and materials will be provided (chalk pastels, soft charcoal, toned paper, and newsprint). You’re also welcome to bring your own.

Our sessions are inclusive and suitable for all abilities. Each pose is timed and called out before each pose.

I can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

Refunds can be issued up to 24 hours before the event. Be prepared to have a small refund fee charged by Eventbrite. Any refund requests made within 24 hours leading up to the event will not be approved as we are a small collective - thank you for your understanding!

HOUSE RULES AND MODEL SAFETY:

Please do not under any circumstances film or photograph the model without their explicit consent. We welcome you to photograph, record and share your work on social media.
