Join us for the North East London Arts Award Network Event commissioned by A New Direction and delivered in partnership with Waltham Forest Music Hub and Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019.

The Arts Award network in North East London targets but is not limited to the following boroughs: Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, Havering and City of London.

This free session is best for music hubs, school music leads, music teachers, educators and organisations working across all key stages who would like to find out more about how to embed Arts Award into their practice.

There will be a chance to

  • find out about how music hubs and schools use Arts Award to support their offer and hit Artsmark targets

  • network with schools colleagues, music organisations and music hubs

  • take part in a practical session

  • find out about and look at resources you can use with your students


Arrival at 14.00 for a 14.15 start

Refreshments will be provided

Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for children and young people aged up to the age of 25 offering five different levels: Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

The Network is run by A Little Learning funded by A New Direction (A.N.D).

A New Direction is a London-based non-profit generating opportunities for children and young people to unlock their creativity

A Little Learning uses technology and creativity to bring change in education, community and culture. The programme offers schools exciting and innovative tailor-made cross-disciplinary projects, CPD and consultancy, Arts Award and Artsmark support & programmes that promote the effective use of digital, student voice and project-based learning, future proofing students for an ever-changing world.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We recommend that you walk, cycle or come by public transport if possible.

The venue is 12-15 minute walk or a short bus ride from Walthamstow Central station on the Victoria Line and National Rail. The area is also well served by National Rail and buses.

Nearest underground station: Walthamstow Central and Blackhorse Road, both Victoria Line

If travelling b car please note that the venue is situated within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). There are some pay and display spots in the area but often busy.
