Arts Counselling Autumn 2017

Producer Sessions & Gathering with Xavier de Sousa and Sally Rose, Producer Gatherings

Lost? Confused? Overwhelmed? Then come and see one of Chisenhale Dance Space’s Arts Counsellors to talk through your troubles.

How can Xav & Sally help?

These sessions are for producers (at any stage of their career) to get peer-to-peer support from experienced independent producers.

A producer's gathering will follow at our local pub for networking and further chats. Please RSVP!

Producer Gathering is a peer-led networking and resource sharing initiative set up by Sally Rose and Xavier de Sousa whilst they were in residence at the Live Art Development Agency. Since 2015 they have hosted Producer Gatherings, informal and welcoming sessions with the aim of connecting independent producers, artists and those interested in the practice of producing, and in hosting timely discussions about topics that feel important to the work we do in the arts. Gathering's have been held at: Edinburgh Fringe, The Sick of the Fringe Festival, BUZZCUT, Mayfest, Live Collission and more. For these sessions at Chisenhale you are invited to come for a solo Producer advice session, or to join us for a social Producer Gathering at the local pub from 7pm.

A blog including shared resources, notes from past meetings and a way to sign up to our email list can be found here: http://producersgathering.tumblr.com/

She supports a range of artists who’s work often crosses boundaries and disciplines, sits outside of the mainstream and is risk taking. Sally works with artists and companies including; Sheila Ghelani, Rosana Cade, Abigail Conway, Duckie, Christopher Green, The Famous Lauren Barri Holstein, Eugenie Pastor, Dickie Beau, Xavier de Sousa, Vincent Gambini, and in the past the Wellcome Collection and SPILL Festival of Performance.

Predominantly for dance artists, these free advice sessions are a place for discussion, advice, support and guidance on a one-to-one basis.

Sessions are 45 minutes, but please allow one hour so you can fill out an evaluation form at the end. This is a guidance only session and does not constitute an ongoing relationship of support from the organisation. CDS will provide signposting and further support networks.
