Arts for Good Mental Health: Free workshops for Young People
Sat 22 April 2017, 14:00 – 16:00 BST
Working with award winning creatives, young people (between 13-17) with experience of mental health problems are invited to join us at Sticks Gallery Fareham for 6 weeks of FREE Arts workshops.
Thanks to funding from the Partnership Foundation, we will be closing the gallery early every Saturday from 15th April - 20th May for two hours of art making with leading creatives.
Song-writing; Drawing; Physical Theatre; Action Painting; Performance Poetry and Art Journaling will be explored through the sessions and young people will get the chance to work together and independently to produce work that reflects who they are.
These workshops are not a form of therapy and none of the artists involved are counsellors. However, we hope they will be a useful tool for young people to explore their emotions and deal with them more positively, whilst also enabling young people to develop an interest in the arts.
Places are free but we ask that those wishing to come along please email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve their place
