Event description

Description

This workshop will explore how to effectively fundraise for small or emerging theatre companies/projects. Sam Dunstan will share his methods for budgeting, creating effective project timelines and how to write your first applications. We will look at the new Project Grants for Arts Council England, Trusts and Foundations and how to build relationships with people for long term financial support.

The perfect workshop for a theatre artist or company that is looking to diversify their income stream and apply for funding for the first, or twentieth time.

Sam Dunstan is a freelance producer and theatre maker and is Marketing & Development Officer for the Blue Elephant Theatre. He has overseen fundraising and budgets for projects including including theatre research and developments, community projects and site-specific festivals.

Testimonial: Sam Dunstan’s notes and advice on Arts Council funding were invaluable. I asked him for advice on the topic because I knew next to nothing about it. I was nervous about the process. After our meeting I feel not only knowledgeable on the subject but that I have insider knowledge that many artists don’t know about.

I am very lucky to have been taught by him and I recumbent anyone who is going through this process to contact him whether or not they have done it before.”

– Amelia Vernede, Workshop Participant.
