Congratulations on starting your Artsmark journey. Curious Minds is delighted to be able to support you through the process of gaining the Artsmark Award.
Artsmark Development Day
The Development Day is a practical immersive session for a Senior Leader (ideally the Head) and the arts lead to work alongside other schools and the Artsmark trainer to explore and start to strategically plan your Artsmark Journey linked to your School Improvement Plan. On the day you will begin to write your Statement of Commitment, which will gain you Artsmark status.
As settings may appreciate, due to the ongoing circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Curious Minds has suspended all face-to-face events until further notice. However, we have been adapting our Development Day training to provide Artsmark schools with an online alternative to attending a session in person.
The format for the online version of your Development Day will include the following:
1.) Settings will work through Artsmark activities ahead of the online session using the Curious Minds’ Artsmark Remote Working Booklet and accompanying presentation.
2.) Settings will attend a compulsory 2 and a half hours session, which will take place online via Zoom. The facilitator will go through the work settings have carried out on pre-session activities in the Curious Minds’ workbook. Our facilitator will also support schools to move forwards with their Statement of Commitment.
3.)Settings will be invited to attend a second optional online Development session at a later date, which will focus on measuring impact and developing partnerships. It will also be an opportunity to catch up and discuss any queries.
It is important for our facilitator to have valuable conversations with schools attending the online Development Day session. Due to the nature of the video conference platform, we have limited the number of schools attending any online session to a maximum of 10.
Please note: As this is the start of strategic plan development for your whole schools Artsmark journey, Arts Council England and Curious Minds ask that the Head or a member of the SMT attend the Development Day. It will involve making decisions that cannot usually be made by the Arts co-ordinator, such as identifying priorities linked to your SIP, partnership development, as well as allocating resources and staff CPD and whole staff meeting time.
Once you have reserved your places, you should receive an Eventbrite confirmation email. A member of the Curious Minds team will be in touch a few days before your event to provide you further information for your session and the Zoom link to join.
