An ASC International Conference is a multi-stream immersive event, held in a university setting, with an associated programme of social activities continuing into the evening and with accommodation provided on site for those wishing to stay. It provides a rare opportunity to spend time with peers from across the sector and to establish (or renew) friendships within the ASC professional community.
After a break of several years due to the pandemic, ASC will be hosting its next International Conference in June 2024 at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Earlybird tickets are on sale now, providing ASC members and the public with an opportunity to secure their place at this event at a substantially reduced price during the programme development period and ahead of the full programme announcement.
Attendees must be 18 years or over. The conference and venue and are fully accessible.

Accommodation options
Delegates at our International Conference in June may either make their own plans to stay in one of several hotels in the vicinity or can take advantage of our full residential package, and stay in a premium en-suite bedroom on the campus at Royal Holloway.
The on-site rooms are en-suite with double beds and private shower rooms. Linen and towels are provided and there is a fast wireless internet connnection in the rooms. Please note these are not hotel rooms but they are clean, attractive, comfortable and well-appointed rooms with a standard double bed located just a short stroll away from the conference events.
The full residential package includes both the conference dinner and room on Wednesday night. You may also stay on Tuesday night to avoid an early start to get to the conference. Choose this as an "add on" during the booking process.
We have also created a Partner add-on, so your partner can join you too, share your double room and enjoy the evening social events at the conference with you for £69, which includes the dinner and breakfast for them too (see below).

Conference Dinner
No ASC International Conference would be complete without a dinner to remember. On the Wednesday evening, a drinks reception, to which all delegates are invited, will be followed by a banquet dinner in the sumptuous high-victorian surroundings of the University's picture gallery. If the delegate package you choose includes accommodation on Wednesday night, then your place at the dinner is already included.
If the package you choose does not include accommodation, you can buy a ticket for dinner separately as an "add on" during the booking process for £60. This includes a three-course dinner, wine and soft drinks.
Frequently asked questions
Royal Holloway is a short taxi ride from Egham station (or a 25 minute walk up a gentle hill if you prefer). Trains leave London Waterloo station and take approximately 40 minutes. By car, it is 3 miles from junction 13 of the M25. Heathrow airport is less than 10 miles away.
You can request a parking space on the booking form. Parking will be available in one or more designated car parks. These may be a few minutes walk from the conference venue. We will send you a map showing where they are located a few days before the conference.
No, you can attend during the day and make your own overnight arrangements by purchasing a day ticket or a non-residential full delegate ticket. Visit the conference pages on the ASC website for our suggestions on other places to stay nearby.
If you have booked accommodation, then yes! Simply select the Partner add-on and they can come to the dinner on Wednesday with you, share your room overnight and enjoy breakfast on Thursday. Kindly note guest rooms are equipped with standard 140cm double beds.
Attending this event will qualify you for 6 hours of continuing professional development with the MRS CPD programme for each day you attend.
Tickets are normally non-refundable but you may transfer the ticket to someone else. Please email us to do this. We will consider requests for a refund on in exceptional circumstances, but we may still need to charge still for costs we have incurred and cannot recover.
Yes, there is step free, level access throughout the site. More generally, ASC is committed to allowing everyone in our community to participate fully. Tell us about the accommodations you need on the booking form and we will get in touch with you to arrange what we can to help.
We accept payment by all major credit or debit cards. You can also pay using PayPal or Apple Pay. Tax and fees are included in the advertised prices.
Absolutely. Enter your member code for 2024 during check out to get £50 off the advertised price, whatever package or combination you choose. If you don't have a code, contact us.
If the package includes the word Residential, then it includes both days' attendance at the conference, overnight accommodation in a premium en-suite room on site, your place at the conference dinner and breakfast the next day. It will also save you at least £130 on purchasing the individual items.
