This is the next instalment of our webinar series, we're looking forward to discussing our latest progress in regards to the charging reform
About this event
As well as our online user-led financial assessment and care & support assessment platforms, we have some exciting developments including our Independent Personal Budget (IPB) and Care Cap Account Co-fund. Additionally, we will be discussing our work on a series of charging reform animations, which will be used to inform and engage with residents about the upcoming changes. You will be hearing from subject matter experts at Looking Local, who have spoken to over 35 councils over the last 3 months. There will be a host of conversations with local authorities on the frontline about how to solve the obstacles next year. We welcome everyone to join in with this conversation - register now for your free ticket, it is not one to miss!

The upcoming Adult Social Care reforms will have a substantial impact on local authorities, who are expected to see a surge in people presenting at their council needing both a financial assessment as well as an eligible care and support assessment. A self-service option that provides users with a complete and localised experience is likely to be essential.
Looking Local - co-owned by Kirklees Council (West Yorkshire) - are responsible for developing BetterCare Finance (financial assessment platform) and BetterCare Support (care and support assessment platform). Both products are digital-led, focusing on end-users self-serving their assessments to provide significant financial and efficiency savings for multiple local authorities across the country. These platforms provide local authorities with the ability to keep pace with the expected significant increase in assessments. We are currently working on multiple avenues relating to the charging reform.

We have other exciting developments in relation to the charging reform, which we’re looking forward to sharing during this webinar.
Charging reform animations
Following suit with the animations that run through our BetterCare suite, we are producing a series of animations that explain the upcoming reform and inform residents about how the changes will impact them. We are producing these animations in collaboration with Walsall Council.
Independent Personal Budget (IPB) and care cap account for self-funders co-fund
This is a council-led, collaborative project to co-design an automated digital solution to generate a self-funder's IPB and digital care cap account, which the council and the service user can rely on in terms of the incoming adult social care funding reforms.
