Event description

Description

This workshop is for Parents and Professionals

The main focus of the workshop will be on how we can begin to aid the person with autism learn to take control of their anxiety by exploring practical strategies where there is a strong experiential element for those attending the training to engage in these strategies. Strategies will come from existing cognitive behavioural models that have been specifically adapted for those with autism to take into account complexities; as well as take into account more recent sensorimotor understanding of the body.

The Empower project is a Big Lottery funded initiative through the Reaching Out Supporting Families Programme which support Families across Mid Ulster and Antrim & Newtownabbey Council areas. The focus of the project is to support children under 12 with Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, their parents and the wider family circle to enhance confidence and learn together to develop skills to support their children.
