ASD Awareness Session
Thu 23 March 2017, 13:30 – 15:00 GMT
Due to popular demand and to celebrate World Autism Week, Disability Support in collaboration with the Learning Teaching Institute, are pleased to announce a further two workshops focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to be delivered by our very own Jo Sullivan.
Jo Sullivan is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Care. She has a specialist interest in Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome and, prior to joining the University, Jo was a Clinical Nurse Specialist for children and young people with ASD and Asperger’s syndrome.
This session is aimed at providing staff with an insight into Autism Spectrum Disorder. It will provide an overview of ASD and how it impacts on individuals who have the condition. It will also provide information on what the condition is; how it is diagnosed; and practical advice on supporting some of the challenges students may experience during their university career.
