ASDAN Accelerating Progress: Maths
Event Information
About this Event
Easter Holidays – Tuesday 6th April to Friday 9th April
2.5 hours per day – 10 hours in total – 10am to 12.30pm - Small Group Online
The aim of the course is to boost Maths GCSE grades by developing essential maths skills and by applying maths to real life situations. There is a special focus on gaining the skills and knowledge to reach at least the 4/5 grade level at GCSE Maths.
Learning is in a small group with a maximum of 6 learners with our highly experienced maths teacher Ruth Yentis. Ruth has an inclusive and engaging teaching style and a strong desire to see all learners achieve their best.
To succeed with GCSE Maths learners increasingly need to apply the maths skills that they have learned to problems. This course is a great way to practice and develop these skills with real life problems and situations so that learners can learn to apply their skills appropriately and gain confidence.
The course also helps learners see the value of maths in their daily lives and will help improve basic problem solving skills. This will also improve understanding of what is needed to succeed with GCSE Maths examination papers.
The course provides accreditation for learning for each 10 hours of accredited work with up to 10 credits available for 100 hours of accredited work. The rate at which learners progress through the accredited hours will vary and the course blocks all include teaching and revision of key topics needed for the work in that module to help learners achieve the best outcomes and develop their knowledge and skills. These credits can be used towards other ASDAN qualifications.
Further workshops can be booked and they cover the whole of the ASDAN Accelerating Progress in Maths programme over a 12 month period so further courses are recommended.
