Sign up to come along and experience Jules Pottle share her knowledge and experience of using stories incorporating science. She has some amazing and very interesting ideas that can be used across KS1 and KS2.

Science Through Stories - Jules Pottle

Stories have always been used as a backdrop for science lessons such as testing materials to build the strongest house for the three little pigs. 'Science Through Stories' goes one step further. By teaching the children to tell a science story by heart, you can teach them to tell the science. This oral rehearsal of the facts and sequences in a science topic can help children to visualise and internalise the learning.

Storytelling Schools' method puts a story at the heart of all the English lessons. If that story also contains science then one story can be used for both lessons. Children can write about science concepts into English tasks and improve their understanding of the story in their science lessons.

Jules Pottle of Storytelling Schools is a primary science specialist teacher and co-author of 'Science Through Stories’. She is also a PSTT college fellow.

We look forward to seeing you at this event.

Best wishes
