Description

Supporting Learning for all in Science

This year our focus will be on maximising learning of Science for all. We have a range of expert presenters who will be looking at how the new curriculum may be approached to maximise every student's engagement and enthusiasm for the subject.

There will also be a Market Place of organisations and suppliers which you can visit at registration, break and lunch. We are delighted to announce that Professor Mary Whitehouse will be giving the keynote address.

Programme

09.15 Registration, Coffee and Market Place

09.45 Keynote ‘Good questions’ with Mary Whitehouse

Based on experience and research evidence, we think that the two principal keys to improving learning are (1) having clear and precise learning outcomes in mind for every teaching episode (2) monitoring students’ learning during the teaching process, so that you (or they) can immediately act on what you find. In this session Mary Whitehouse will describe how having a bank of good questions can support both those aims and consequently make a difference to the learning that takes place in the classroom.
