The Ash Rise documentary tells the story of the Ash tree, its historic and contemporary brilliance as a material and the challenges of ash die-back.

Furniture makers are privileged to experience the sounds, smells and textures of the workshop; the processes that realise the potential in timber are fleeting but beautiful in their own right. The film features Tom Addy, Angus and Lorna Ross, Dr. Helen Mackay OBE, Alice Broome and Andrew Macqueen.

Organized by

Tucked away just off the Bruntsfield Links, Greenhouse Records is home to a curated selection of records, books and art. Their small but cosy shop has been a champion of local and independent artists since it opened its doors in 2019.

The staff will guide you through the varied collection of records with genres ranging from jazz to reggae, as well as a selection of underground dance music you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

The bookshelf, with its strong political undercurrent, is stocked with a handpicked library of titles that are updated on a regular basis. Whether it's a well researched local guide book or some genre bending fiction, there's something for everyone.

Greenhouse Records is also home to an online radio station that broadcasts shows from up-and-coming local musicians. Expect a deep dive into Scotland's diverse music scene while you browse.
