Ashbys 5th Big Tidy Up

The 5th Ashbys Big Tidy Up takes place on Saturday 6th April 2019 2.00pm till 4.30pm.

In association with NWLDC Street Action Team, Ashby Town Council and Keep Britain Tidy ‘Great British Spring Clean’ Campaign the fourth litter pick is being organised throughout Ashby by the Ashby Hastings Rotary Club.

Anyone can volunteer to help. No experience is necessary but experienced Litter Pickers are encouraged to act as Team Leaders (Lead Litter Pickers) for less experienced volunteers.

Volunteers can choose their starting place from one of ten locations around Ashby. At 2pm volunteers begin picking litter whilst making their way to Hood Park Leisure Centre Sports Hall where free refreshments will be provided.

Litter picks, bags and safety vests will be provided but volunteers need to wear suitable clothing, sturdy gloves and sturdy footwear. Young people under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

A ‘Trash to Treasure’ hunt will take place during the tidy up. Youngsters will be able exchange the rubbish they collect for a chocolate coin.
