Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals Observations 2018

All Rounds are held at St Peter's Hospital.

Please see the individual ticket options for room locations.

All Rounds last for an hour. Please allow 30 minutes for lunch beforehand. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the Round is due to start. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to observe if you arrive late. Once the Round is underway it is important that you stay for its duration.

The Point of Care Foundation acts as a facilitator in setting up observations of Schwartz Rounds. Occasionally there are instances, beyond our control, when Rounds have to be cancelled at the last minute due to staff sickness or emergencies within the organisation – we will of course give you as much notice as we are able of any cancellation.

Please also note our guidelines below about Observing a Round.

OBSERVING SCHWARTZ CENTRE ROUNDS®
Before you introduce Schwartz Rounds to your own organisation, it is a good idea for facilitators and clinical leads to observe a Round in practice.

When you arrive to observe a Round, please make yourself known to the Round’s facilitator before it starts, so they can briefly tell you about the Round that you will be observing.

You may be introduced and welcomed at the start of the Round, but as an observer we ask you not to contribute to the discussion, even if you are tempted to speak. It is important that the Round remains a safe environment for the staff attending and should relate only to the experience of staff within that organisation. You are likely to still find the Round emotionally engaging just through listening and observing.

If you can, stay after the Round has finished to have a conversation with the facilitators about your impressions and reflections about the Round you have seen.
