Geert is the founder of Herenboeren. With an ingenious community concept to produce sustainable food, numerous Herenboeren farms have started opening in the Netherlands. Here, on behalf of the community, a farmer grows what they personally need and would like to eat in a sustainable way.

Changemakers of today and tomorrow. How do they do it?

The future is open. A crisis makes people long for recovery, but also for sustainable change. A number of special social entrepreneurs had embarked on this path to change long before COVID-19. For example, they have been building a fairer food system, they organize healthcare in a more efficient way, and they work on future-oriented education.

These changmakers are scarce. They are momentarily illustrating the power of social entrepreneurship and bringing hope with their system changing innovations. Together with our network of people who want to make a difference, we can provide them with expertise, network and perhaps also financial support.

Ashoka Fellows

Ashoka Fellows are carefully selected social entrepreneurs whose business interests are geared towards sustainability and change. They come from all over the world, are successful and frequently succeed in upscaling their system-changing innovations.

What is needed now

Right now, social entrepreneurs have to overcome additional obstacles. The COVID-19 crisis clarifies what can be improved and helps us to see what is really important. In this sense, it is also a huge opportunity. You can think along with these impactful pioneers and contribute to social change.

We would like to explore with you and our select group of Ashoka Network Supporters (ASN) how we can help to further scale the solutions of these remarkable entrepreneurs.

3 juli 2020 – Kijk en luister naar de Changemaker Story van Ashoka Fellow Geert van der Veer: hoe creëer je een eerlijk voedsel systeem?

Geert is oprichter van Herenboeren. Met een ingenieus community concept om duurzaam voedsel te produceren, opent de ene na de andere Herenboeren boerderij haar deuren nu in Nederland. Hier verbouwt een boer in opdracht van een community op een duurzame manier wat men zelf nodig heeft en graag wil eten.

Changemakers van nu en morgen. Hoe doen ze het?

De toekomst ligt open. Een crisis laat mensen verlangen naar herstel maar juist ook naar duurzame verandering. Een aantal bijzondere sociaal ondernemers was dit pad naar verandering lang voor Corona ingeslagen. Zij bouwen bijvoorbeeld aan een eerlijker voedselsysteem, zij organiseren thuiszorg op een efficiëntere manier, en werken aan toekomst gericht onderwijs.

Deze pioniers zijn schaars. Zij laten momenteel de kracht zien van sociaal ondernemerschap en brengen hoop met hun systeemveranderende innovaties. Samen met ons netwerk van mensen die een verschil willen maken, kunnen we hen voorzien van kennis, netwerk en wellicht financiele ondersteuning.

Ashoka Fellows zijn zorgvuldig geselecteerde sociaal ondernemers die hun zakelijke hart op de juiste, duurzame plaats hebben. Zij komen van over de hele wereld, zijn succesvol en slagen er vaak al in om hun systeem veranderende innovaties op te schalen.

Wat nu nodig is

Juist nu moeten sociaal ondernemers extra obstakels overwinnen. De Corona crisis maakt helder wat beter kan en helpt ons in te zien wat ècht belangrijk is. In die zin is het ook een enorme kans. Jij kunt meedenken met deze impactvolle koplopers en bijdragen aan sociale verandering.

Door middel van een virtuele tour geven onze Fellows jou een kijkje in hun wereld. Je krijgt hiermee een goed beeld van hun innovatie en de impact die zij maken. We verkennen graag met jou en onze selecte groep Ashoka Network Supporters hoe de oplossingen van deze opmerkelijke ondernemers verder kunnen helpen opschalen.

We organiseren ook een aantal online sessies over het werk van Ashoka met internationale gastsprekers over systeemverandering, weaving, collaborative action, social finance etc.
