Ashwell Prison is immense in size and enclosed behind high fencing. The location gives ghost hunters a real creep factor by day, but come night it takes on a real dark and sinister appearance.
Your ghost hunt at HM Ashwell Prison will see you exploring all levels of this vast site which is split into various buildings. On your ghost hunt will you take part in our Victorian-style Investigations? Joining in with your friends conducting Séances such glass divination, table tipping, Human pendulums and even using an official Ouija board?
Maybe using hand held ghost hunting gadgets is your bag, Haunted Houses Events prides itself on it’s huge collection of ghost hunting tech which will be readily available for you to hold, carry and use on your investigation. Head out into the darkness and keep a look out for your electromagnetic field spikes, or even cold spot alerts!
A firm favourite activity is to stand silently in the dark calling out to any spirits who can hear your voice, inviting them to join you. Will you be touched in the dark by unseen hands? Or maybe you will be lucky enough to hear the faint footsteps of a former prison guard doing his rounds? Feeling Brave… Try a lone vigil (ghost hunting in a room or area alone) in the dark. Should you wish to have a go at this be sure to let your host know that you are up for the challenge, and they will gladly arrange this for you.
For a modern prison, it is odd that so many reports have been witnessed here. Past staff have reported dark figures running into rooms, that on checking were found to empty.
Within very recent history a face has been seen to of peered out through a window, the site manager thinking somebody was in the building went to investigate but turned up empty handed – the figure had vanished!
Now sitting abandoned, footsteps echoing around the empty shell of the wings have been heard, with loud crashes that could just be caused by playful spirits. An unwelcome feeling as you walk amongst the cells has been reported, along with headaches coming and going as you enter and leave paranormally active areas.
