​An initiative of ASIS International, the CSO Center for Leadership and Development brings together the most senior security professionals from the largest and most influential organizations in the world.

The day will be an interactive mix of presentations and panels led by Martin Gill and Philip Ingram (see below).  We will be seeking to engage the CSOs attending to tackle some of the issues affecting the global security professional.  Speakers include

Dr Jon Arthur - Jon is a former Director of Resilience for Unilever and is an expert in applied risk reasoning systems for complex organisations.  His presentation. Courage in Leadership – Leadership in Resilience, is based on projects he is working on for NATO. 

Roddy Drummond - Roddy is a career diplomat and currently Head of Security for the UK Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office.  He is the former High Commissioner (Ambassador) to Fiji and Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He will give an insight into how diplomatic security operations are undertaken across the world.

Prof Martin Gill CSyP - Martin is well known to ASIS members and the wider security community.  He member of the Board of Trustees of the ASIS Foundation, founder of The Outstanding Security Performance Awards and a leading security academic, researcher and writer.

Baroness Angela Harris DL - Lady Harris, is Chapter Patron of the ASIS UK Chapter and Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords.  She has a depth of knowledge of policing and advises security organisations.

Philip Ingram MBE - Philip is a former Colonel in the Intelligence Corps and was awarded the MBE for his service.  He now uses his experience and knowledge of global security and intelligence issues as a commentator on radio and television and writer and presenter.

Dr Samir Puri - After working in the diplomatic service supporting peace processes, counterterrorism strategy and counterproliferation, Samir is now lecturer at Kings College London, Department of War studies.  He will be speaking on The Shifting Sands on which we engage in Strategic Planning for Security

Chris Smith - A former Vice Chairman of the ASIS UK Chapter, Chris is Global Head of Security Risk Director of HSBC, one of the world’s largest banks

David Thorp - Executive Director, Business Continuity Institute and was previously Managing Director of The Security Institute.  The BCI recently published a report on Cyber Resilience and David will be addressing some of the issues raised.

ASIS UK Chapter

The UK Chapter of ASIS International is the fourth largest in the world and the largest outside of the Americas.   We run educational, networking, social and charity events along with programmes supporting Women in Security, Young Professionals and those transitioning from the police and military into the security profession.
