Do I need to attend both days in full ?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Living works-the governing body-require full attendance for certification.

Question 2

Is the building accessible ?

Accepted Answer

Yes.There is full access to all areas used for the training.This includes the kitchen area.There are two accessible rest rooms.

Question 3

Are there refreshments ?

Accepted Answer

As our training is funded by Blackburn with Darwen Council/ Public health-this ensures all delegates are able to access the training "free at the point of entry".This does not however, include funding for food or refreshments.However, we at RAF do provide tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, fruit & sweets

Is there a kitchen I can use ?

Accepted Answer

Yes.There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge, cooker and all plates/ cutlery which you are very welcome to use.Ti is at your own risk and we ask you to keep the area clean and wash up after yourself please.

Question 5

What will the two days consist of ?

The course is run over two consecutive days and split into four sections.There will be a mixture of teaching elements ( the model of intervention ) group discussion, workshop exercises and peer practices using the model.There are videos ( with subtitles) and many resources for you to use and take

Suicide is an emotional topic.Will I be ok ?

Accepted Answer

We agree.Suicide is an emotive topic & one wrapped up with much stigma, fear and uncomfortableness. However it is imperative that we do discuss & do what we can to address it.You will be well supported by your workshop Facilitators and your peers.

Question 7

What happens if I cant attend after booking my place ?

Accepted Answer

The training is funded for anyone who works, volunteers , lives or is in education across Blackburn with Darwen. However it does have a cost, if you cancel less than two weeks before or do do not attend, you will be billed for £80 to cover the cost.You can nominate someone in your place at no cost.
