Description
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) trains frontline staff and the wider community in early intervention.
The 15-hour workshop held over two days teaches participants to connect, understand and assist people who may be at risk of suicide.
The Two Day ASIST Course is suitable for mental health professionals, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, teachers, counsellors, youth workers, police and prison staff, school support staff, clergy, community volunteers and the wider community.

As an ASIST-trained first aid intervention Caregiver, you will be better able to:

Identify people who have thoughts of suicide

Understand how your beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide interventions.

Seek and share and understanding of the reasons for thoughts of suicide and the reasons for living.

Review current risk and develop a plan to increase safety from suicidal behaviour for an agreed amount of time.

Follow up on all the safety commitments, accessing further help as needed.

Limited to 15 Delegate Places
What is the minimum age requirements to access ASIST?
Delegates must be 16 years and over
How accessible is the training venue?

What's the refund policy?
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend due to illness you will need to send us a copy of a medical certificate for cancellation fees to be waived.
Delegate substitutions can be made at any time without charge.

Cancellation with 1-4 weeks’ notice – 50% charge
Less than 1 week’s notice – no refund

In association with Common Unity Social Enterprise, Forward For Life offer the LivingWorks Certified 2 Day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and the half-day safeTALK across England.
The Full Course Option can be a cost-effective way of training your team in your own venue. If your organisation works with at risk target groups we may be able to offer a discount based on the allocation of funded places.
