Description

Ask an Entrepreneur Series: Getting your Founders Right - the start up paradox of finding the best people.

Continuing the success of bringing in real entrepreneurs who have started and run their own businesses, Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School and The Guild of Entrepreneurs are proud to bring a workshop session with a difference. Join us for over an hour packed full of spontaneous advice, tips and tricks on finding co-founders and pulling together your initial team, one of the first challenges of any entrepreneur to make their vision happen.

Finding the right person or people to work with is difficult when the idea is new and you are not sure what lies ahead. This is especially so when it is your first start up and you are still working out what skills, contacts and resources you need. Our speaker, Paddy Willis, has set up at least eight companies with a variety of different people. These include two incubators where he has been able to use his wealth of experience to guide new businesses through the early stages of formation. He will bring insight into what has worked, what has not and how to deal with the unexpected so that you get practical tips to overcome some of the pitfalls of getting an effective team together.

Paddy has started, run and turned around seven companies including four in the food sector. Currently, Paddy has a number of Non Exec positions, sits on the investment committee of an EIS fund and runs the Grocery Accelerator, the UK's first independent Accelerator programme for ambitious food and drink entrepreneurs.

As is usual, Paddy will be exploring the issues with two early-stage founders from LBS. This will all be ably hosted by Jeff Skinner and our MC, Guild Freeman Barnaby Wynter making sure everyone is involved from the outset. There will be a networking session afterwards with other entrepreneurs from the Guild and LBS over drinks.

Register today as the room has limited numbers.
