Event description

Description

Our Ask The Expert series, in association with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), brings academic research on public policy into the heart of Westminster. In our next Ask the Expert seminar, we’ll be joined by Dr Martin Moore, Director of the Centre for the Study of Media, Communication and Power at Kings College, London.

Responding to the power of the tech giants, and with the ‘techlash’ in full swing, governments are itching to control the power of Facebook, Google and other UK tech platforms. In this talk, Martin will look at why the proposed cures may be worse than the disease, and argues that democratic governments have misunderstood the problem.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be a fascinating and timely discussion.
