ASLE-UKI Seminar - Ecopedagogy as Method
Overview
ASLE-UKI Seminar: Ecopedagogy as Method: Knowledge, Practice, and Transformation
This roundtable explores ecopedagogy as both a framework and a practice for imagining institutional and pedagogical transformation in higher education. The session will consider how ‘eco’ might be conceptualised not only as environment, but as relation, practice, and method.
Taking into account the recurring institutional debate on “Education for Sustainable Development”, participants will reflect on what it means to treat pedagogy itself as an ecological activity, through dialogue and examples from teaching across the humanities.
Finally, the roundtable will address the constraints and possibilities shaped by institutional pressures, and consider how ecopedagogy might help us reimagine the university as a more sustainable, relational, and transformative space.
