Description

This workshop will include theory and practical strategies to help recognise and support visual problems associated with specific learning difficulties, including what we can do to help and when we should refer for specialist diagnosis and guidance.

Elizabeth Christie is an optometrist working in an independent community practice. She works in general optometry but has a special interest in children's vision and, in particular, visual involvement in specific learning difficulties including dyslexia. She is a member of the College of Optometrists and an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural Optometrists.

The event will be suitable for all ages and stages of education. Please feel free to spread the word.

Doors open for registration and coffee at 9 a.m. ready for the event to start at 9.30 a.m.

There will be a refreshment break mid morning and the event will finish at 12.30 p.m.

Do I have to bring a laptop or other device to the event?

No, it is entirely optional.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have a list of attendes and you do not need a printed ticket.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, if you are unable to attend a colleague may take your place. Please email us to let us know.so we can update our record and provide an attendance certificate.

What if I can't use my ticket?

If you are unable to attend, please email us to let us know by e-mail, so we can offer the place to anyone on the wait list.

Are refreshments available?

Yes, we will be providing refreshments on arrival and again around 11 a.m. Following the event you may use the on-site Atrium Cafe in the Checkland Building if you wish.

Is parking available and can I arrive by public transport?

There is free parking available

Can I bring my child/children with me?

This event is for adults aged 18 and over only. Any children and their accompanying adult will be declined entry. All attendees must purchase a suitable ticket in advance, but they will not be refundable if entry is declined.
