Action Focused Assemblies
At Community Organisers, we have come to believe that it isn’t enough to focus on the symptoms of inequality any more - we need to tackle the root causes. That’s why we’ve been on a journey exploring the causes of things we hear again and again across our network of Social Action Hubs.
This Summer, we hosted a series of webinars that examined why there’s an increase in foodbank use, unaffordability of everyday items, grassroots climate action and misinformation and disinformation fuelling racial violence.
As part of these, over 100 people heard from experts, activists and campaigners before talking through the problem with other participants and/or doing a ‘problem tree’ analysis together.
Since then, the team at Community Organisers have analysed the conversations and pulled out some themes that appeared lots of times across the different webinars.
Now what? This Winter, we will host a series of action-focused assemblies to join the dots between these themes and develop national campaigns for change.
