Assembly Series #4 - Protecting Our Future Together

Assembly Series #4 - Protecting Our Future Together

By Community Organisers
Online event

Overview

A series of action-focused assemblies to join the dots between the big issues in the UK today and develop national campaigns for change.

We all want to leave behind a world that’s safe, healthy, and full of possibility. But the future feels increasingly fragile — with climate breakdown, inequality, and insecurity shaping how we live today.

In this fourth session of our Winter Assembly Series, we’ll explore how we can protect our shared future together. We’ll hear from community organisers leading local climate action, from young people demanding change, and from experts connecting environmental and social justice.

Then, we’ll deliberate together:

  • Sharing stories about what we fear and hope for when we think about the future.
  • Connecting the dots between the climate crisis, economic pressures, and inequality in our communities.
  • Imagining alternatives - what would it look like if protecting the planet also meant making life fairer and more secure for everyone?

This theme was generated out of our Summer webinar series exploring the root causes of things seen across our network of Social Action Hubs, including grassroots climate action, the cost of living, and community resilience. Again and again, participants called for a politics that links environmental repair with dignity, belonging, and fairness.

Now, we’ll ask: how can we protect our shared home — and build a future where people and the planet can both thrive?
