Event description
One size does not fit all! The importance of assessing to identify hidden disabilities, e.g. dyslexia

About this Event

Our event is aimed at anyone who has an interest in dyslexia and overlapping conditions, including education staff, employers and parents/carers.

The three speakers for the evening are Colleen Pearson, Jennie Murray and Elizabeth Jones, who will be explaining why assessment to specifically identify a profile of learner strengths and weaknesses is the key to success for an individual.

Testing by a qualified, experienced practitioner will ensure that a person's specific difficulties are better understood by the individual concerned and by everyone involved in supporting the person.

Without the right support, individuals with hidden disabilities will fall behind their peers with the gap widening as they get older. The additional impact of this can be low self esteem.

However, recognising a person's strengths and weaknesses and ensuring the right support is in place, regardless of environment, will enable achievement of full potential and improved long term prospects.

We look forward to welcoming you at our event in the Wade Hall.

Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided free of charge.
