What is this training session about?

What will I learn?

This training day will help you learn practical ways to identify and assess pupils’ mental health needs. You will be introduced to a range of effective methods for assessing mental health difficulties, and have opportunities to practice these during the day. You will learn ways to effectively use the outcomes of assessments to help yourself, young people and families better understand mental health needs, as well as ways to use assessment to help inform intervention plans and requests for support from external agencies.

It is aimed at all school staff, especially SENCOs, pastoral leads, TAs and any other staff with specific responsibility for pupils’ emotional health.

We will provide refreshments but lunch is not provided.

Please share this information with anyone else eligible to attend.

What have previous attendees said about this training?

"This was a really useful day. It helped me understanding a variety of assessment tools and how they can help you to focus on what the specific areas of concern are."

"Using the resources from this day has allowed me to identify issues and patterns which you wouldn't necessarily recognise from just discussing the child and their issues."

"It was a really practical day where we could practice with questionnaires and discuss some case studies in detail with the facilitators and other school staff."
