Description

Assessing the needs of the "Whole Person" and their family enables the health care professional to respond to the individual at the end of life.

This session will cover:

  • Explore the impact of advanced illness on the patient and family
  • Explore what is a holistic assessment and how to use it
  • Identify and explore skills needed to recognise the potential and actual needs of patients and their families
  • Explore the process involved in under taking holistic assessment of patients and their families
  • Consider how to broach talking about sensitive issues such as spirituality/sexual needs
  • Consider the contribution of multidisciplinary members

This Study Day is suitable for healthcare professionals who are caring for paliative patients in any setting.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Car parking is available at the adjacent Babraham Road Park and Ride CB22 3AB. Use the footpath to the hospice (approx 5-10 minutes walk), near the entrance to the P&R.

Use the following post code CB22 3AB as Sat Nav and online maps currently do not recognise the correct location of the Hospice's postcode.

There is car parking at the Hospice for those with disabilities or mobility issues.

Refreshments are included and visitors are welcome to use the Bistro for lunch.

What's the refund policy?

If you are unable to attend please notify us as soon as possible. If you cancel your registration 14 days prior to the start of the course, you will not be entitled to a refund, however you may transfer your booking to an alternative course. For non-attendees or no shows we reserve the right to charge a fee of £20.00, however extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration when applying the cancellation fee.
