Assessment and Management of Dizziness, Cheshire & Merseyside CPD ONLY

Course Outline;

This course aims to enhance primary care skills on the Assessment and Management of Dizziness and Impaired Balance. The training is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively diagnose and treat patients experiencing these common yet challenging symptoms.

Types of dizziness and risk factors:

• Central vs. peripheral dizziness
• Common risk factors including age, medication and underlying health conditions

Blood pressure and effect of postural changes:

• Orthostatic hypotension and related symptoms
• Assessment techniques for blood pressure changes with posture

Overview of the vestibular system and assessment:

• Anatomy and physiology of the ventibular system
• Key components of vestibular assessment

Assessment of treatment of vertigo:

• BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) diagnosis and treatment (demonstration and practice of Epley Manouvre)
• Other causes of vertigo and their management strategies

Vestibular rehabilitation:

• Therapeutic exercises for vestibular rehabilitation
• Long-term management and prevention of dizziness and balance impairments

THIS TRAINING IS FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY FOR CPD WHITHIN CHESHIRE & MERSEYSIDE PRIMARY CARE TEAMS ONLY.

You will be required to give details of your NMC number and Practice/PCN name.

The following Primary Care staff are eligible for CPD funding: All registered Nurses , Midwives , Art Therapists , Drama therapists , Music therapists , Chiropodists/podiatrists , Dietitians, Occupational therapists , Operating Department Practitioners , Orthoptists , Osteopaths , Paramedics , Physiotherapists , Prosthetists and Orthotists, Radiographers , Speech and language therapists.

Will be free to book and attend but the cost of £59.40 will be taken out of your £333 CPD Allowance for this year. Charges for inappropriate roles will apply.
