Assessment Planning, Assignment Writing and the Roles of Assessors and IQAs

This session guides Open Awards providers through planning assessments, writing effective assignment briefs, and understanding the roles and responsibilities of Assessors and Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs).

Delegates will receive step-by-step guidance on:

• Selecting appropriate methods of assessment aligned to learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
• Designing and constructing assignment briefs that are clear, valid, and reliable.
• Implementing pre-verification processes and procedures carried out by the IQA to ensure assessment quality and compliance.

By the end of the session, participants will be confident in designing robust assessments and embedding IQA oversight from the outset.
