This presentation and workshop will be led by Caroline Bateman, IT professional and entrepreneur. She is dyslexic herself and mother of three children with dyslexia. Caroline says 'The tools to transform dyslexic learning are out there. They just need to be shared.'
The focus of the workshop will be on Assistive Technology and IT in Secondary, Further and Higher Education, although they are applicable for all ages and stages of education.
Bring along your laptops, tablets and smartphones, if you wish to try things out on the day.
The event will be suitable for support workers, teachers, SENCos, parents and older students. Please feel free to spread the word - all interested parties are welcome.
Arrive at 9 o'clock for refreshments and a 9:30 start.

Do I have to bring a laptop or other device to the event?
No, it is entirely optional.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have a list of attendes and you do not need a printed ticket.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, if you are unable to attend a colleague may take your place. Please email us to let us know.
Are refreshments available?
Yes, we will be providing refreshments on arrival and again around 11 a.m. Following the event you may use the on-site Atrium Cafe in the Checkland Building if you wish.
Is parking available and can I arrive by public transport?
There is parking available, but we have been advised that many students will be moving in that weekend, so there will be more pressure than normal on parking. You may prefer to arrive by public transport to avoid any potential parking issues.
You can reach the event easily by bus (Number 25) or train (Falmer Station).

My child is dyslexic - can I bring him/her?
Yes, please do. Learners age 14+ will potentially find it interesting and useful. They must come with an adult If under 18. Anyone in full time education should purchase a student ticket.
