About this event

The ancient moated site of Astley Castle holds unequivocally modern living accommodation clasped within the shell of the Castle. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the huge living room and kitchen look out over Astley’s former collegiate church and into beautiful internal courts formed by ruined spaces. Come and explore the new accommodation hidden within the ruined walls and the new knot garden and find out more about its history through our footpath trails.

On Saturday 10th September we will be hosting an event based around innovations in silk weaving at the time of Jane Austen. Sarah-Jane Downing, author of 'Fashion in the Time of Jane Austen', will be holding a talk at 2pm (tickets available separately); and demonstrators will be on site showcasing various skills.

Admission is completely free and there will be leaflets on the building's history and activity booklets for children.
