Astro Photography Workshop - Lincolnshire
Event Information
Description
Do you want to learn how to take stunning pictures of the night sky? Then this event is for you. We are running a first ever session devoted entirely to astrophotography. We'll take it slowly and keep it simple so that by the end you will be equipped to capture your own view of the stars. Topics covered will include widefield shots using just a camera and tripod, star trails, time-lapse, Milky Way and Aurora photography. We'll also explain how to attach a camera to a telescope to take pictures of distant galaxies and nebula, offering a few basic processing tricks along the way, together with a cheap way to take stunning high resolution images of the moon and planets using a simple webcam. As the night gets darker we'll head out to take some pictures! The session is based in the comfortable education barn and goes ahead in all weather. Bring camera (DSLR preferred, although we'll show you how to use a fixed lens camera too) plus a tripod if you have one. The event will appeal to anyone with an interest in nature and who are keen to develop their photography skills. If you want a more general stargazing evening please check out our other events at Chambers.
Chambers Farm Wood
The night sky above the beauty spot is very dark on moonless nights, with the full range of wonders on show, including the Milky Way, clusters and distant galaxies. It is probably the best Forestry Commission site in the East Midlands for stargazing. We’ll provide warming refeshments.
