What to wear/bring?

Please wrap up warm as we will be standing outside in the middle of winter. Do bring a red torch if you have one. (You can make one by putting red cellophane over a white torch if you are feeling creative.)

What NOT to bring.

Please do not wear bright white head torches or use bright white lights while we are stargazing. It ruins the dark adaptation of everyone's eyes

What can I see through the telescopes?

The telescopes we use can easily see our Moon and Solar System planets, as well as deep space objects like galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae.

Can I bring my own telescope?

Yes, the more the merrier.

Support dogs welcome, pets not allowed. Please email us to let us know if you are bringing a support dog.

Our events are planned to be incredible whether the sky is clear or cloudy. We put a lot of thought into our rainy day programme and have a mixture of online activities, games, craft activities and sessions with experts planned for our guests. These activities are designed by our expert teaching tea

Sarah aims the talk at beginners while also adding bits in for more experienced astronomers. The aim is to make the science accessible and entertaining for all in attendance.

If we have one child over 10 and one under, which event is more suited for our family?

The ages on our site are a guide only. The event for over 10s is for all who can sit for approximately 30 minutes to listen to the talk. Both events are aimed at a beginner astronomer level. The 10+ event talk goes into more detail and is longer than the under 10s one.
