The Asylum Justice Project is organised and run by Amnesty volunteer activists across the UK. Founded in January 2015, the Project is campaigning for better treatment of asylum-seekers in Britain; for it to be fairer and more just, and to improve the public perception and awareness of asylum seekers and the asylum process. Helped and supported by Amnesty staff, members are currently focused on ending indefinite detention of asylum-seekers and campaigning for a fairer asylum system.
The Cambridge city group has a sub-group to focus on Asylum Seekers' and Refugees' rights and support the Aslyum Project's campaign in Cambridge. At this meeting we will discuss how to campaign to end immigration detention as well as local activities for amnesty's new refugee campaign which has just been launched.
This will be our first meeting in this location - entry is by pressing the button marked 'meeting room' on the main external antrance to the right of the fire station doors. All welcome!
