A weekend course in low light photography Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October
We're excited to be working with photographic artist Simon Buckley over a weekend when he will conduct a course in low light photography, using the Bridgewater Canal for inspiration.
Simon is well known for his project 'Not Quite Light', which sees him capturing the changing streets of Salford and Manchester in the half light of dawn. The weekend of low light photography starts on the Friday evening with Simon introducing the techniques needed for working at sunrise and sunset with daylight and street lighting. Then, on the Saturday at both dawn and dusk he will take you on an exciting photographic walk along the canalside between Monton and Barton. The weekend will be rounded off on the Sunday with post production techniques and a discussion about the photographs taken.
For this course you'll need a digital capture device, preferably a DSLR, a tripod and a laptop or iPad.
The weekend will start at 7.30pm on Friday 21 October at Monton with a discussion followed by a canal walk to explore the possibilities for pictures on the Saturday at dawn and dusk. This weekend course is free but booking is essential.
