A talk presented by Paolo Guarino, Cotswold Archaeology.

An 'in person' talk only, in Wheatstone Hall, Museum of Gloucester.

Archaeological Excavations at Centre Severn, Barnwood, Gloucester, have found significant remains of a Roman farmstead dating from the 2nd to the 4th century AD. The remains included a limekiln and the foundations of a barn-like building within a ditched enclosure. By piecing together the evidence from earlier excavations in the area, we are now able to confirm that the different sites were parts of the same rural settlement, which included a burial ground and possibly a high-status building.
