At the Going Down of the Sun: Wandsworth at War
Sun 13 November 2016, 10:00 – 12:00 GMT
Although World War 2 naturally had many effects on London's more significant areas like Westminster and the City some of its lesser known areas also suffered great devasation. Wandsworth was one of these such places.
Born and raised in Wandsworth Jack will tell you stories of how Wandsworth was involved in the war effort including fire fighting, rationing and of course, imprisonment. Some of the stories are deeply personal as the war affected his family in many ways - not all of them positively.
The walk ends near Clapham Junction Station allowing you an easy onward journey.
The walk will take approximately 2 hours. For information on travel, please use Transport for London's Journey Planner.
