Swords and sword making in London, and the transitions of tradition from medieval to

modernity. Few objects are as evocative as the sword and there is good reason for this.

Here in Cutler’s Hall, the heart of London’s Sword-making, we will consider the purpose and

legality of civilian weaponry, their manufacture and instruction, and how this was

perceived by legal and constitutional authorities.

Finally, we will explore class-based violence as a means of establishing social credit within society. All set within the context of the tiny microcosm that is London.
