About this event
We are delighted to invite you to ATD Fourth World's annual Friends and Allies Webinar.
This year, we bring to you a thoughtful evening of conversation, learning, and connection around the theme of Everday Rights.
'Everday Rights' is a term being used more and more by civil society organisations to refer to Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ESCR). These rights stem from various different issues that affect us all, and are recognised in international human rights law as the essential conditions required to live a life with dignity and freedom. You can read more about Everyday Rights here.
The evening will feature a special introduction from Baroness Ruth Lister, author of Poverty, which will set the tone for a discussion that brings real-life insights into the importance - and fragility - of our everyday rights.
You'll also have front row seats to a powerful conversation between Dr. Keetie Roelen, author of The Empathy Fix, and Kaydence Drayak, youth activist and member of ATD Fourth World. Together, they will explore how empathy and lived experience can shine a light on the rights too often denied to people living in poverty.
You will also have the opportunity to dive deeper: sharing reflections, listening to one another's stories, and considering how rights are upheld - and undermined - in everyday life.
And we'll hear from Aye Aye Win, President of the International Committee for October 17th, who will share with us exciting news about upcoming events.
This is always a popular event in our calendar, and we would love to see you there. Please reserve your spot to ensure you receive the link to the webinar.
